Catalyse Change

Our mission is to ignite the ambitions of young women with the skills and belief to catalyse the change they want to see in the world.

Sustainable and inclusive development is critical for a peaceful and prosperous world; and gender equality is key to achieving sustainability. At Catalyse Change we focus on ways we can inspire and skill young women to be the next generation of change-agents. By providing them with inspiration and knowledge ‘to be the change they wish to see' in the world, we seek to tackle gender equality and sustainability by working with the very people who will realise that change.

Why Women?

Gender inequality remains a key challenge. Britain has one of the worst records on gender equality at work, and men continue to fill the majority of the highest paid and most senior roles. Women also continue to be under-represented in leadership roles, in particular, those that influence policy. Yet, as identified by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, gender equality is key to creating an inclusive and sustainable world.

By 2030…

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development aims to end poverty, combat inequalities and promote prosperity while protecting the environment. “Women and girls make up more than half the world’s population — and they are on the frontlines — often more deeply impacted than men and boys by poverty, climate change, food insecurity, lack of healthcare, and global economic crises. Their contributions and leadership are central to finding a solution.”

What does it mean to be Body Confident?

We’re taught from a young age that nothing in life is perfect. Everything comes in different sizes and shapes, so why can’t we accept that when it comes to ourselves?  Megan, our communications assistant, has written us this blog on ‘body confidence,’ a subject which affects all women at some stage in our lives. Issues surrounding body image and body positivity have been relevant and widely discussed for as long as I can remember. According to the Mental Health Foundation,…

So what was it like? a Catalyst Bootcamp Review

Taryn attended our three–day Bristol residential Catalyst Bootcamp in July – here she provides fascinating insights into what it was like. Bristol is a beautiful city. It’s so full of life, culture, people. It’s also full of colour – in particular, green: in 2015, Bristol was crowned European Green Capital. It’s a real sustainability hub, with people working across sectors to reduce our impact on the environment. If you’re passionate about saving the environment, Bristol’s an exciting scene to be…
