Catalyse Change

Our mission is to ignite the ambitions of young women with the skills and belief to catalyse the change they want to see in the world.
Sustainable and inclusive development is critical for a peaceful and prosperous world; and gender equality is key to achieving sustainability. At Catalyse Change we focus on ways we can inspire and skill teenage girls to be the next generation of change-agents. By providing them with inspiration and knowledge ‘to be the change they wish to see' in the world, we seek to tackle gender equality and sustainability by working with the very people who will realise that change.
What We Do

Why Women?

Gender inequality remains a key challenge. Britain has one of the worst records on gender equality at work, and men continue to fill the majority of the highest paid and most senior roles. Women also continue to be under-represented in leadership roles, in particular, those that influence policy. Yet, as identified by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, gender equality is key to creating an inclusive and sustainable world.

By 2030…

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development aims to end poverty, combat inequalities and promote prosperity while protecting the environment. “Women and girls make up more than half the world’s population — and they are on the frontlines — often more deeply impacted than men and boys by poverty, climate change, food insecurity, lack of healthcare, and global economic crises. Their contributions and leadership are central to finding a solution.”

Let’s Start Empowering our Young Women Today

Article from Sophie Harvey-Rich from Bristol 247 magazine You might have thought that the shockwaves of #MeToo, felt everywhere across the globe, would have led to some kind of concrete government action. Not so. A report by the House of Commons’ Women and Equalities Committee, published on October 23, showed street harassment of young women to still be very much alive and kicking. Surveys showed a huge 85 per cent of women aged 18-24 have experienced unwanted sexual attention in…

What’s it like to Study Sustainability in Sweden?

Blog post by Alice Wojcik I left Bristol six weeks ago to move to Sweden and study a masters course in Environmental Communications and Management. After graduating from a journalism degree in July 2017 and working as a reporter for a few months, I decided that I wanted to focus on environmental issues and climate change as these are topics that I am deeply interested in. Sweden is a great place to study the environment because it is a very…
